March on DC Today

Here is an email my friend sent me today after her attendance at the March on DC today. Below are the pictures she took showing the amazing turn out and support we had.

Hello friends and patriots,

Today was the 9-12 March on DC. I have to say that it was one of the best experiences of my life! There were reportedly up to 1 million people there and I cannot tell you how exhilarating it was to be surrounded by so many patriotic Americans. There were more than 450 busloads from all over the country. I spoke to people from Hawaii to Alaska, from Texas to Georgia, Pennsylvania and Ohio, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, California - all of whom had traveled at their own expense and great personal sacrifice to be there to day.

I am so hopeful for the future of our country.

Fairfax Patriots Speak Out: Spies and Rock Stars

I usually quote others, but there are a couple of issues that have me fuming.

Remember when the white house put this on their website?

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to Flag@WhiteHouse.gov."

When people finally began to wake up, all they focused on was the reference to "fishy" emails and they missed the whole point! The scary part is the phrase in the previous sentence, "Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House..." The white house has no business keeping track of rumors, emails, or casual conversations in the first place! They as much as admitted they were already spying on us before they put up the request!

The second issue is the speech President Obama gave to our school children today. His agenda was obvious from the original lesson plan issued to the schools. But since he felt he couldn't get away with it, he changed the plan and gave a "nonpolitical" speech which supposedly appeased everyone. Again, even the talk show hosts missed this one. The Obama Cult is oblivious to politics - it is all about his rock star presence and he can convert innocent young children to his cult regardless of the message. Remember, 15-18 year olds who heard him today will vote in the next election and are likely to vote for a rock star than anyone else. Objective accomplished while even the conservative media slept.

Amendment: Congress gets the same health care as we do!

Congressman John Fleming has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they enact on us (under proposed legislation they are exempt). Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition. I have immediately done just that at:

http://fleming.house.gov/index.html, then scroll down to the poll question under Express Your Opinion.

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same! If Congress passes this for the American people, the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

Marty Fieldstein: ObamaCare's Crippling Deficits

Do you, like me, have a hard time wrapping your head around national finance? I kind of think of it in terms of mortgages and credit cards. In those terms, it appears obvious that we're going to lose the house. And the collection agency has already moved in. Marty Fieldstein of the Wall Street Journal tells the bleak story of our nation's finances with and without ObamaCare. Either way, we're in big trouble!

CNN's Gergen on Van Jones: 'Sad to See a Man of Good Work Get So Little Credit'

What? This is absolutely unbelievable. Van Jones is receiving the credit where credit's due. He's a marxist radical bent on "changing the whole thing" using the Green movement as a springboard. That's not sad -- it's infuriating!

David Gergen's got it all wrong here...

Trial set for Obama's birth certificate dispute!

World News Daily reports on the most recent developments in the case of President Obama's eligibility for the presidency based on the consitutional requirement that a president be a "natural born citizen" of the United States. It will be interesting to see where this leads. Many unanswered questions here!

Sarah Palin -- Baracuda

This sensational article was written by one of Sarah Palin's consituents, an Alaskan Fisherman named Dewey Whetsell. He's quite impressed with her accomplishments as Governor of Alaska, and you will be too. Guaranteed!

John Murtha Insults Our Republic

This is an unbelievable clip of Representative John Murtha conducting a vote in the House of Representatives. I found it galling. Talk about voter fraud. What a jerk!

My Little Comrades

This is a little satire from American Thinker on what perhaps the first draft of President Obama's speech to schoolchildren might have contained. Or, maybe it contains a hint of truth at what he would like to say...

Van Jones: Ready to Rumble

Van Jones may be "out" of the White House, but he's not out of our lives. Now he can fly under the radar and further his agenda without the public scrutiny of an official office. And that's just what he'll do. Check out this article from WorldNetDaily:

Milton Friedman on Capitalism

Milton Friedman takes on Phil Donahue on Capitalism and Greed in this 1979 clip of the Phil Donahue show. Just goes to show you that human nature never has and never will change, and that true principles are true no matter what era we're in or what government is in charge. Fascinating...

John Stossel on Government-run Health Care

This 20/20 news segment was originally aired on ABC July 31. It's a candid and informative report on this administration's intention to provide single-payer government-run health care, and a good overview of what that means to Americans by giving us a glimpse of the Canadian and English government-run health care systems.

Betsy McCaughey Sets Record Straight on Health Care

This posting on The American Spectator, written by Betsy McCaughey, Chairwoman of the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths and former Lieutenant Governor of New York, sets the record straight on her position concerning the end-of-life provisions in pending Health Care legislation. The New York Times has misrepresented her views but has declined to publish her clarifications. Read them here in her own words:

Obama Speech in Fairfax County Schools?

Tomorrow at noon, President Obama plans to address our kids on the subject of education. His speech to school children, K through 12, is scheduled for noon tomorrow -- the first day of school in Fairfax County. The speech is designed to be shown in the classroom. This is proving to be quite controversial:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/09/04/politics/washingtonpost/main5288013.shtml

If you would prefer that your children not participate, you must contact your school directly to find out what they plan to do. In Fairfax County, the decision to show or not to show the speech, the decision whether or not to discuss it with children in the classroom, and whether or not they will offer an "opt-out" option is being left up to the individual schools and, in some cases, individual teachers. For example, my kids' elementary school is showing the speech on Wednesday morning as part of the morning announcements, and they are offering an opt out if parents request it before Wednesday morning.

The following article provides more information and specifically mentions Fairfax County:

Van Jones Resigns

This Washington Post article about the resignation of Van Jones:

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/09/06/van_jones_resigns.html

would lead us to believe that Mr. Jones was in a relatively low position within the White House ranks, that the Obama administration was unaware of Mr. Jones's extreme views and radical activism, and that his resignation was precipitated by a vicious smear campaign.

  1. Van Jones's position in the Obama administration as "Green Job Czar" was a "relatively low rank" and "did not require Senate confirmation." Therefore, "his past was not reviewed to the same degree as the more senior 'assistants to the president' and other top advisers inside the West Wing."
  2. According to a White House spokesperson, "He [Jones] was not as thoroughly vetted as other administration officials. It's fair to say there were unknowns."
  3. According to Van Jones, "opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me...using lies and distortions to distract and divide."

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The White House not only knew about Jones's radical views and extremist activity, they recruited him to the White House staff because of it. Here is how Valerie Jarrett, Senior White House Advisor and close friend of the Obamas, recently introduced Van Jones:

As for how well Mr. Jones was vetted and other videos of Glenn Beck's supposed "smear campaign," you decide:

Gerry Connolly: Health Care -- No they're not!! (Really?)

A few weeks before starting this blog, over a period of a few weeks, some friends and I went door to door in our neighborhoods to talk to regular Fairfaxians about the Health Care Reform Bill (HR3200). We provided a brochure highlighting some of our main points of contention with the bill and encouraged our neighbors to contact our congressional representatives by providing pre-addressed post cards. The response we got was passionate and nearly unanimous -- No Government-run Health Care!

On the morning of, August 18th, 2009, my friends and I met up with some other true Patriots in front of the Rosslyn Holiday Inn to demonstrate against the Healthcare Reform Bill. We chose this location and time because Gerry Connolly, Congressional Representative for Virginia's 11th District (including Fairfax County), was scheduled to speak there. As his car approached the entrance to the hotel, we gathered around to talk with him. He rolled down his window and his driver slowed down so he could respond. To the best of my recollection, the conversation went like this:

One of us asked whether or not he supports the Healthcare Reform Bill. Mr. Connolly said emphatically, "I support the Healthcare Reform Bill." I've got to give him credit for a straight answer here.

I asked, "Why haven't you scheduled a town hall meeting?"

His response: "I've had plenty of town hall meetings."

Well, not since the publication of HR3200, which was the timeframe I was referring to. It was an evasive answer.

I then said to him as I held up my sign (Connolly Constituents Against ObamaCare), "Mr. Connolly, your constituents are against this bill."

He shouted as his car pulled into the garage, "No, they're not!" and then rolled up his window.

Apparently, Mr. Connolly hasn't been out talking to his constituents.

This is not the only bad bill Gerry Connolly has supported or does currently support. He has voted with the House Democrat block led by Nancy Pelosi on every piece of lousy legislation presented since he took office in January. He's part of the problem. He needs to be retired. Let's work on that!

Kevin Mooney: Union Bosses Get Major Role in Obamacare Management

This article by Kevin Mooney of the Washington Examiner looks at the Health Care bills before the House and Senate and highlights areas where this legislation gives Unions the power influence health care policies for health care workers and their patients -- you and me.

Charles Krauthammer: "Obama the Mortal"

Health Care: American Association of Physicians and Surgeons Files Suit

Remember when the White House asked you to report "fishy" emails to them? The American Association of Physicians and Surgeons thinks this stinks. They're filing a suit against the White House. See the story here:
